Proactive Mining for Supporting Corrective Actions in Software Development†

Goal†

To construct a means to support decision-making to take orrective and/or preventive actions.

Problems and/or Issues†

• Current state of software repository mining
  • finding a fact and/or trend of a software development project in the past
  • would be useful for the next project to prevent the same problem happened in the previous project

• Problems are caused by a variety of reasons (root causes)
  • even if you can use mining techniques, you still face with other kinds of problems you have never seen before
  • findings and knowledge derived from mined results of the past data sometimes cannot apply to solve the current problem
  • because a new problem happened to you (it means you could not avoid the problem just by using the minded results)
